It was a great trip all around. After stressing, vacuum bags and finally giving in the the extra suitcase, I decided to bring three. A very kind lady at the counter didn't even charge it for me. Plus, she told me to keep the carseat since the plane wasn't full. Then, nervous about the super duper lineup for security, I got into line almost a couple hours before my flight left, and found out there's a special lineup for babies and it bypasses the entire line! Fabulous!
Having Jake in his carseat in the plane was a lifesaver. He fell asleep within 45 minutes of takeoff, then slept for a good four hours before getting sick of his seat. He slept on me, then was awake for the landing. His barely fussed, his ears didn't seem to bother him and overall, it was a pretty uneventful flight. I definitely recommend flying at night!
We got to Germany, breezed by customs, didn't wait to long for our bags and met my parents. Jake slept during most of the two hours drive to our new home.
Here are a few pictues.
