Playdate!

We went to the clinic this morning to get some eye drops. The eye infection has been going around, he wasn't the only one. We skipped daycare for today to give it a chance to clear up. After four doses of drops, his eyes look much better already.
I babysat Noah this afternoon. It was cute to watch them play. It's the first time Jake has a friend over, so he's not used to sharing his toys.
I was a little nervous about having two toddlers for the afternoon, but it went really well. Especially since Jake took a two hour nap.

Slept in! Yay!

Hi!
We had a pretty good week-end, despite Jake having a bit of an eye infection. (We'll get it checked out tomorrow.)
He slept in Saturday until 8am. Today, he woke up at 4:40am, but I was so comfy in bed, I decided to give it 2o minutes, and he settled back down after 10 minutes and slept until 8am again. Yes! That makes me very happy.
Saturday night, Andrew babysat and we went to a party for wings and poutine.
Today, Jake was cranky because of his eye, so during his nap, my mom and I did the groceries, and my dad got Jake up.
He's a happy boy, but then when he sees me, he just melts down at times. He also doesn't like to be told no, especially from dad.
He was practically begging to go to bed tonight, he even put his head down on the coffee table, it was funny.

Jake was up early again. 4:57am.
We came downstairs to watch Finding Nemo and eat raisins since I refuse to serve breakfast before 6am.
Actually, it was a breakfast sort of day, since Jake had a waffle in the morning, oatmeal for lunch, and toast for supper after throwing his other meal on the floor.
He was cranky pants tonight again. Absolute meltdowns. I'm not sure I like this part of toddlerhood.

All in all, I finish my day watching Friday Night Lights and drinking wine. It's a good evening.

A thorn in his butt!

Jake was up early this morning (530am) and he didn't nap much at all.
When I went to pick him up at daycare, he was hysterically sobbing. It was so sad. I guess another mom came to pick up her kid, and Jake just lost it. Luckily, I came to pick about five minutes later. He just would not settle down for me either.
He did eventually fall asleep in the car, only to be woken up at home and start crying again!
I couldn't settle him down, but I got his Teddy Bear, and he just stopped crying, cuddled right into his bear and kissed him and gave him hugs. It was really adorable.
It was supper, bath, then bed tonight! He went down really easily at about 650pm.

It was playgroup day!
I can't drive for a month for insurance purposes, so we ended up being there about a half hour early since my dad dropped us off before going to work. We went to a little park to play.
Jake had a lot of fun. He loved the slide the best. But didn't want to go through the trouble of climbing up, it's much faster when mommy just lifts you!
Playgroup was a lot of fun, there were less kids today, but Jake was playing really well with others. He was a little pig! He ate four croissants, this child sure loves chocolate! He also climbed on everything possible.
This afternoon, we went for a walk after his nap. Then he spent a lot of time playing with his Uncle Andrew! He sure loves running around the house.

It was a pretty regular week-end.

I didn't blog this week-end, I took a break on Saturday and my parents needed the computer on Sunday. Our internet is just so slow that when several of us are online, it makes it so so slow.
I'm not posting pictures tonight, since my mom is trying to book some things for her trips coming up.

Jake has been good, he's just such a goof ball. But he's into everything, and it was a very trying week-end at times. His new tricks are climbing on everything and turning the television on and off. It just gets exhausting to redirect him all the time! I did put away his mat with the letters and numbers for now. He wasn't really playing on it, and just tearing it apart every chance he got. It does make clean up much faster.

My dad and brother got back from their skiing trip on Sunday night, and Jake was so excited to see them! It was really cute to see.

Happy Friday!
Jake happily went to daycare today. The teachers said he played really well with the other kids today. He was even awake when we went to get him.
He had a pretty good nap, then played this afternoon. He's been playing really well in the living room lately.He loves to turn the lights on and off.
It's the first time he wears the overalls. He kept taking one of the straps off.

Jake took my camera, turned it on, turned it around, and then actually took a picture of himself (albeit, not a very flattering one!) I just thought it was really funny, and I think I take way too many pictures of him!

Silly boy!

I was all set to sleep train today. All prepped mentally, and ready for it. And guess what? Jake woke up at 8am!!! Silly boy.
We had a great morning. Life is so much better when you start it in daylight.
Jake insisted on bringing his blanky downstairs with his teddy bear and probably spent about an hour playing with them both. He'll climb on the couch with them, throw them on the floor, then try to get them without getting off the couch.
We went to daycare this afternoon, Jake had a lot of fun.
Then we went for a long walk, had supper, then it was off to bed!

I was in the bathroom, and Jake managed to get his lunch box off the table, open it and start eating his snacks for the afternoon!! Silly boy!!

Cleaning baby!

My mom is hosting book club tonight, so Jake and I got down to business this morning to clean the downstairs. He loves to help. I even got a bucket of water with a bit of vinegar and a sponge so he could clean the floor, but that was a no go. He slipped in water and fell. :( But he had fun cleaning windows, tables and dusting.
Jake has also started to climb on everything! He was climbing in his mega block bin and on the sub woofer. He's going to give me a heart attack one of these days!
We got him some shoes from Old Navy, he managed to knock them off the table and was asking me to put them on. He's posing here. Don't you love his belly?

Play! Play! Play!

I have a chance to blog in the afternoon, Jake only napped for an hour, but was crabby waking up. He's sitting on the couch eating raisins and watching Dumbo.
We played and played this morning. Jake made a wreck out of the living room and his toys, then we took it outside. (I didn't bring my camera outside though!)
He was up early again 515am, but stayed in bed with me until 6am (thanks to my ipod, except Jake thinks it's his now. Whoops.)

Happy Valentine's Day!

Jake was up bright and early! (4:23 am to be precise, luckily I was sound asleep at 830pm last night.) In two days, I'll be sleep training again, so we'll just hope that he gets it out of his system before then!
Jake went to daycare this morning and had fun on Valentine's. They decorated brownies for the parents and each got a cookie and a cupcake to bring home. I gave Jake his cupcake after his nap for a snack to give him a chance to burn off the sugar before bed, but he would NOT touch it. It was pretty funny considering he inhaled his chocolate cupcake last week. Jake ended up eating his cookie and Andrew inhaled his cupcake!
He's been pretty funny lately, just really blabbling, it's like he's having an entire conversation with you, but in toddlerese.
