Children's Christmas Party

Here are the pictures from yesterday. We went to the children's Christmas Party. It was in the Netherlands at a huge indoor amusement park. It was better for older kids, but Jake had a good time puttering around and observing the others!

Jake and I before the party!
Jake liked the carousel. He was so serious, just holding on tight and looking all around. It was really adorable!
Trying to get the change out of a game!
There was a huge ball pit and he really wanted to go, but there were older kids throwing balls around, so he settled for a little ball area.
Until he realized there was a way out. And tried to bust out, he actually succeeded!
He played on this car toy for awhile, he kept wanting back up!
He didn't like this car as much, he couldn't reach the steering wheel.
He loved this inflatable mountain. He even managed to climb up on the second part on his own.
Playing with Noah.
Meeting Santa for the first time. Jake didn't really like Santa. It was really crowded and rushed, he preferred to play.
Playing with a balloon.
Back at home playing with his toy from Santa.
Reading his new book with his grandpa.

I'm not really posting tonight.
It was a busy day with the Children's Christmas Party, shopping, and now that Jake is in bed, I'm going to another party with my parents.

I'll update tomorrow with lots of pictures!

Clinic Christmas Party

Tonight was the Clinic Christmas Party. Jake, my mom, and I made a special trip to the American Base to buy Jake an outfit. My mom wanted to get him something Christmassy. Jake was so good. He was hilarious at the store, running up and down the aisle at the store. He was definitely burning energy!

We didn't leave for the party until after 6pm, I was a little worried since he normally goes to bed at 7pm. But he was really good. There was a gym in the building where the kids were playing, and Jake loved it. He just ran and ran and ran everywhere. We brought a ball for him to play with, but it was eventually taken by the older boys for a game of soccer. That's ok, Jake had fun running with him.

Jake also had his first candy cane! He liked it, he had a few bites from a mini candy cane. Here's Jake in his outfit, I forgot to take pictures at the party, I was too busy running after him!

Snowy Day!

Today was a snowy indoor day! We actually stayed in our pajamas and slept in. I actually woke up before Jake today, that's a rare occurrence!
We spent the day playing, reading books, climbing on and off the couch (that's a new favorite). He goes to the couch and says "Up!" despite being perfectly capable of climbing on the couch himself.

Here are some random pictures from this week!

Jake "helping" my dad put his boots on before work.
Leaving for daycare on Monday morning.
This one is from today. After his nap, he dragged his teddy bear everywhere and was asking me to open his snack.
This is the craft he made at TAPS yesterday. The left hand print is more like a hand smudge. But it's cute anyways!

TAPS!

We went to TAPS today. I have no idea what the acronym means, well I forget. T stands for toddler. It's basically a playgroup at a family resource centre on the base. It was a ton of fun. We did a craft (an ornament with Jake's hand prints), well, it's more like hand smudges. Jake wasn't impressed with getting paint on his hands, he preferred to paint with the brush.

There were a bunch of kids. Jake is nice with most of them, he still plays independently though, but sometimes interacts with the others. He loved the toy car they had, he had a blast going in and out.

There was chocolate croissant, Jake feasted on his. He had a face full of chocolate at the end. It was pretty funny.

As for me? I'm really happy to get to meet other moms and have another activity on my social calendar. Everyone was really nice, and I had a good time.

Jacob and his teddy bear!

Monday is daycare day! He did great again today, he didn't even want to leave, he was having too much fun playing with his toys. He also wanted to bring home a toy phone, but that wasn't happening!

My friend Michelle came over this afternoon. We used to swim on the swim team together back in Greenwood about 10 years ago. Her dad is here and she's visiting for three months, we met up at the gym one morning. Jake loved her! He kept playing with her hat, it was pretty funny. Also, Michelle took Jake's Teddy Bear and was shaking his head to say "no", well Jake thought that was absolutely hilarious. He kept shaking his head, and then just laughing and laughing and laughing. I didn't really get it on camera, and unfortunately, I don't seem to be as good at the game. He doesn't laugh as hard for me.

I made Louisiana Chicken Pasta from Annie's Eats for supper: http://annies-eats.com/2009/07/10/louisiana-chicken-pasta/. It was pretty good. A tiny bit too spicy for Jake, but he ate his whole plate, though his eyes were a little watery. Oops. He did eat a ton of blueberries for dessert to make up for it!

Here are some pictures from today:

I have more pictures, but it took me almost two hours to upload those four. My dad is also using the internet, and he's stealing some of the signal!
