Up! Mama Up!

Jake is always trying to get me to pick him up. I'm trying to teach him the word "up", but he doesn't use it yet.

Today was daycare day. He cried when I dropped him off again. :( Jake drives me nuts in the car. He always fusses for the first 5 minutes or so. Why? Because he's trying to get his shoes and socks off, unfortunately, he always succeeds!

After naptime, we played with is toys. He's giving his stuffed elephant kisses, it's really cute. He doesn't give me kisses yet. When I point to my cheek for a kiss, he just pokes me with his finger.

Just before supper, we went outside to see the horses, accross the street from my parents is a pasture. There are normally three horses there. He loves to look at them and say hi. I have to carry him because there's a road, plus, the last thing I need him to do is crawl under the fence! We also met a small dog being walked, the owner was very kind and let Jake pet him.

One of my favorite times of the day is right after bathtime..not because it's bedtime soon. Though, I won't lie, sometimes I love bedtime. Anyways, after his bath, I go to the kitchen to make his bottle, he follows me to the gate, watches me get the bottle ready, then runs to the couch and waits for me. He then sits on my lap and leans against me for his bottle. It's a very sweet moment.

I only have a few pictures today. It's getting hard to photograph him because he drops whatever he's doing and runs to the camera and wants it. I took a picture of him with his blocks, we put them away every night, then the next day, he brings the bag to me to open, then proceeds to dump the entire thing. It's cute.

Mr. Cranky Pants

Jake was mister cranky pants today...again.

He was just miserable with himself, even after I made whole wheat pancakes for breakfast. I finally gave him a dose of tylenol, and then after his nap, he was a little happier. But he was ready for bed at 630pm and went right down.

Hopefully he's not sick.

Jake loves to play peek-a-boo with the blanket. I put the blanket over his head, then I go around pretending to look for him, and then I make a big deal when he reveals himself. It's pretty hilarious. He also likes to put the blanket over my head, then come and find me.

Here's mister cranky pants after I wouldn't let him touch the power bar to switch the light offs.

He's happy now because he got his hands on my book. Then he was "reading" it. Which I find hilarious because it's an Amanda Quick book.

Just the two of us

It was just Jake and I all day today. My parents and Andrew are gone to Russia for a hockey tournement.

We had a pretty regular day. I say that alot, but it's true!

Jake was fussy this morning, it's like he woke up on the wrong side of the crib. I think he was just tired, he went down for a nap very easily. My mom bought him an elephant when she was in London, he had fun hugging it and giving him kisses, it was pretty cute.

We went outside this afternoon, but we didn't stay too long. It was windy and a little cold and Jake won't keep his mittens on. He did have fun on his slide and run off some energy.

Jake had clementines for dessert today, he loved them to my surprise! He ate three of them! I was amazed.

And for today's pictures...

Strike!

We had another pretty good day. Jake is still getting into everything, but my dad babyproofed the cable box with plexiglass, Jake was pretty bewildered at why he couldn't turn it on and off anymore, but I think he's gotten over it.

It's been really foggy here all day. When we took our walk this morning it was a little eerie, especially on the farm roads since you could only see about 10 feet ahead of you. At least Jake's stroller is really bright, and had a flag. It was like being in your own little world.

Jake has been eating really well lately. I made chicken & spinach lasagna and Jake loved it, he had two portions. It was actually really good. I tweaked it a little bit by adding more chicken, more spices and a little more sauce.

Jake has a little bowling game. It's really cute to watch him play with it. He hasn't quite mastered the bowling ball (plus it's made with plastic and makes a ton of noise on the tile floor!), but he loves to knock them down with his hands. Then he helps put them back up, but tends to knock the back down before they are all up!

J'ai pensé à toi aujourd'hui grandmaman. Le chandail est encore un peu grand, mais il fait quand même! Je t'aime beaucoup!

Who needs a spoon when you have hands?

Playing the Wii with uncle Andrew and mommy. We were playing Total Wipeout, Andrew kicked my butt.

iMonday

Monday is daycare day here.

It went somewhat well. There was a little hiccup at the beginning when I didn't have the GPS....thanks to my little brother who didn't put it back. After a little bit of a freakout, and a little reassurance from my dad, I drove off to daycare alone for only the SECOND time...with NO GPS!

Alright, alright, as dramatic as I was, the drive was fine, I remembered how to get there, and I didn't get loss at all. Win. Jake cried when I dropped him off this time, but according to his teacher, he settled down really quickly. I managed to pick him up right as he was finishing lunch, so he wasn't sleeping for once!

We came home, Jake napped for a couple of hours, then we just played and did a little cleaning. He was one grumpy mister though. He cried and cried before supper, didn't eat any food I was giving him, but quieted down the second he was in his highchair and DEVOURED his food. You would of thought he hadn't been fed all day. We had chicken, brocolli and brown rice...he ate and loved everything.

Then after supper, he was still fussing. Jake had a bath, bottle and was in bed and asleep by 630pm.

Here are the pictures for today. He loves loves my ipod. Since it's bright green, he can spot it from everything, and if I need him to sit still for a minute to clip his nails, or anything, it distracts him.

Having Fun with Uncle Andrew

We had a busy day today!
This morning we went to the American Base to grocery shop with grandpa. And, I forgot my camera..boo! But Jake was an angel in the grocery store, he just looked around and didn't make a sound. We didn't finish up until lunch time, so we stopped at Burger King (also on the base) and had some lunch. Jake ate my dad's french fries and one chicken fry.

Since he napped in the car, he didn't nap at home. We spent the afternoon playing with his toys, reading books and hagning out. We didn't go outside because it's rained so much here in the past few days it's too wet.

We had ham, mashed potatoes and carrots for supper, and Jake loved it! Absolutely devoured it, but he was also hungry.

Here are the pictures from today, Jake and Andrew had fun playing.

No, Jake isn't in trouble..he just likes to sit on the stool.

Rain Rain Go Away

Today was just one of those rainy days where you are stuck in the house.

We played with a lot of blocks. Read some books. Napped...though Jake decided to wake up early from his nap, just after I had fallen asleep for my nap! We watched Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (not about Jake, but I am so excited for the new Harry Potter movie!!)

The good thing about waking up early from naptime, is early to bed! It's just after 7pm, Jake is in bed, and I'm sipping a lovely glass of wine while my dad makes burgers. It's lovely!

Here are the pictures from today. I love his zebra outfit, though it either shrank in the wash, or Jacob grew because it's going to be too small soon!

My dad bought Jake a helmet for when we go on bike rides...though if it keeps raining like this..we'll never get to!

Now, I really debated posting the next picture..because it seemed mean. But Jake loves to play with these two bars under the snack table. Today for some reason, he kept thinking he could sit on one, but of course, he would fall in between them. He did it about three times before I finally snapped the picture. Now, don't judge too much, the camera was right there, and I couldn't help it, I scooped him out right afterwards.
I will admit to the picture making me laugh.
