430am...

Well, it's better than 4am anyways. My dad was flying this morning, so I couldn't do any sleep training. Sigh.
At least it was daycare morning, and I was able to come home and go back to sleep. That helped, a little anyways.
Jake found my mom's scarf and was playing with it this morning.
Destructo boy.

He loves his teddy bear.
Whenever I say, can you give bear a kiss..he does. It's the cutest thing. Oh, and he'll give his bear a hug, and pat him on the back. Just like I pat Jake on the back when I give him a hug. It's hilarious. And so funny how they mimic us.
After supper, he started running around the living room. Burn all the energy you want Jake!
Jake found another one of my mom's scarf today..well, he took it off of her and played peek a boo.

4am..once again!

We had another very early morning. I'm really going to have to bit the bullet and sleep train. Ugh. I just hate doing it.
It's hard to be up and at it four hours before the sun is even up. We lazed around this morning, Jake did fall asleep during lunch and nap, then he went to daycare, I went to the gym, then we went to the American Base to do some grocery shopping and stop for supper at Burger King.
This is Jake in time out.
He's not happy about it. I think he was in time out because he pulled my hair....or yanked it.
This is another reason Jake goes to timeout.
Hanging out with grandpa.
Jake loves his new sippy cup.
Fell asleep at lunch time.
Having supper at Burger King. He loves to dip his fries in ketchup.

Another beautiful day

Our day today was a lot like yesterday minus playgroup. It was just sunny and gorgeous outside, we spent a lot of time just walking around, playing with rocks. Unfortunately, the horses weren't there, but Jake made do with playing with their poop. (Barf! We did run inside for emergency hand washing.)

Jake was pretty mischievous today. A lot of hair pulling, getting into drawers, and putting mega blocks in sub woofers. There was a lot of time out, then a lot of dramatic tears, but hopefully he's starting to understand.

I'll add the pictures tomorrow. My dad is on the computer tonight, and uploading pictures slows it way down. :)

It's a beautiful day.

It was such a sunny and gorgeous day today!
We went to a Valentine's Day party with our playgroup. Where Jake caught the sugar bug and inhaled a chocolate cupcake, cookies and M&M's. His favorite part is the snack table, I have to distract him. Jake fell asleep in the car, and then slept on the mat for about an hour.
Then we spent the afternoon outside. I take the paper towel when I give Jake his antibiotics, today he was being silly and wiping the floor with it.
Loving his phone, and watching a cartoon.
Taking a nap on the floor.
Getting ready to go play outside.
We went to see the horses that are next to the house. Jake also like to play with the rocks on the ground.
The horses.
Jake and the horses.

I really need to watch him since he tries to get under the rope.
Home from our walk.

I'm back!!!

I took an impromptu blogging break over the week-end. Sorry about that. The internet was even slower than usual because of the insane wind, plus, we rented Season 1 of Friday Night Lights and got totally absorbed.
We had a pretty good week-end.
Last week was pretty crazy between the splinter saga, plus the fact Jake was an extreme early bird.
By Friday, I was more than ready for a break. It was wing night, Andrew babysat Jake (and did an excellent job). Wing Night was busy and fun...even if it was my turn to be designated driver. Oh, and I have noticed a trend, when it's my turn to drive home..we stay out late!
I went to bed...then when I woke up...there was light outside! It was 845am! I was shocked. Turns out, Jake woke up at 4am, fussed, talked to himself for awhile, then fell back asleep. Apparently all this time, I just needed to not hear him wake up.
Saturday was a our regular shopping day. Jake did really well, he even fell asleep in the grocery cart. It was so adorable, I wish I had my camera.
Sunday was a Friday Night Lights Day. We did try to go outside, but it was just too windy to stay long. Oh..and he got up at 830am. It was fabulous!
He's such a climber now. I was getting something in Andrew's room and before I knew it he had climbed onto the recliner.
Reading books with Grandma.

It's a short post tonight.

Jake was up at 4am...for the day. I'm just praying this is a phase.
We went to the doctor and finally got that splinter out.
He's a champ at taking his antibiotics.
He fell asleep during lunch.
He went to daycare for the afternoon, and I came home to nap.
He discovered a light switch that he can turn on and off.
He'll sit on the couch next to me and put his arm around my neck, it's adorable.
He gives real kisses on the cheek.
It was an early day, but a good day. We put him to bed around 8pm instead of 7pm hoping it'll help with the early mornings.

A splinter saga (with an update)

After lunch on Tuesday, I noticed that Jake's thumb was swollen. Upon further inspection, he has a splinter under the nail of his thumb. Since his thumb was obviously infected, we went to the clinic to get it checked out. We got some antibiotics for the infection and a referral to a German pediatrician for today.
We went to the pediatrician today, and he cleaned out all the puss, but wasn't able to get to the splinter. The doctor put some ointment on his thumb and a huge bandage, and we are to go back tomorrow. If he can't get it out, we'll have to go to surgery for them to take it out. Can you believe it? For a splinter!

On the plus side, it doesn't seem to bother him too much, and he's using the hand normally. And he's been great at taking the antibiotic. He's in very good humor and acting normal.

As you can see from the picture, the bandage lasted about two hours. As soon as my back was turned to make his lunch, it was off!

Update: We went back to the pediatrician this morning and the splinter is out!!! YES!
