A Day at Home

Today was our quiet day of the week. We didn't have any activities, it was a little rainy and windy, we didn't spend much time outside, but had fun playing with toys inside. Jake can be so funny sometimes.Jake like to take the paper off the water bottle. It was actually iced tea, Jake kept bugging me for a sip, so I gave him a small one thinking he wouldn't like it. He actually really liked it and kept asking for more. LOL.
Playing with his mega blocks. They are one of his favorite toys.
Lately, Jake has been emptying out his crib during nap time, so I brought to camera up when I went to get him today. He even took his pants off today!
Cuddling with the blanket Grandma Arleen made him!
I love his Monkey Butt. He'll outgrow these pants soon, so I reserve the right to take a picture every time he wears them.
This window faces the entry way/drive way. Whenever someone is there, Jake knocks to get their attention, but his little knock doesn't make any sound. It's pretty cute anyways.

Playgroup!

Today was playgroup.
Jake was a bit of a menace. Normally, I can sit and chat with the other moms and just keep an eye on him.
Today, he was constantly grabbing at other kids faces. Or trying to grab a little girl's soother. Silly Boy. My mom says he won't be making friends that way.
He had a nap this afternoon, under protest, but he did end up sleeping. Then we did a few chores together, he likes to "help". You know, like unfold laundry.
I went to the gym with Andrew during supper, he had a good time with his grandma and grandpa.
He sure knows his schedule. He normally goes to bed at 7pm. I was hungry, so I decided to let him stay up a little so I could eat before, I warmed up my supper, and Jake was sure it was his "bubba" (bottle). It was cute, he climbed onto Grandma to wait, and was like "what?" when there was no bottle.
I only got a couple of pictures today of him sitting down waiting for me to put his outside clothes on before leaving for playgroup!

Yawn!

Jake woke up at 2am last night, no idea why, and didn't fall back asleep until 4am. It truly astonishes me that a toddler and his teddy bear can take up just about all the room in a double bed and I'm stuck horizontally at the bottom of the bed with little space. LOL.
Anyways, Jake went to daycare this morning, he had a good morning, they go to the gym on Monday's. Since I work out at the gym, I did spend a couple minutes spying on him, he was so cute just toddling along on his own and playing. His teacher finds him very independent

I picked up Jake a little early, and he was still awake (he often falls asleep in the highchair after lunch). I put him in the car, and then sang VERY LOUDLY every song I could think of, multiple times. It worked! Jake did not fall asleep in the car.

After his nap, we watched a little bit of Alvin and the Chipmunks: The squekquel. We had to go pick up my mom from work, and Jake needed his 18 month shots. He did pretty well, he fell asleep in the car, and slept on the couch for another half and hour before I woke him up. Then he was really, really cranky. I think his arm was sore, I gave him some advil before bed, hopefully he'll sleep through the night.

Total meltdowns!

It was a rough morning for Jake. He woke up early, just before 7am. We had breakfast, played with his mega blocks, hung out with grandma, then we went outside to take a walk. Instead of taking the stroller, I just walked in the village with Jake, he likes to toddle around.
All was going great until we saw a cat.
Then Jake wanted to pet the cat.
So he ran after the cat.
Of course, the cat ran away.
Cue complete and utter meltdown.
He cried and cried. It was so sad.
Then we finally made it home, he had another meltdown and didn't want to go outside.
We went to play outside, all he wanted to do is pull the window screens, and had another meltdown when I wouldn't let him.
Then we went inside and he sobbed in grandpa's arms.
We had an early lunch and early naptime!

He actually woke up from his nap in good humor. We went for a walk (with the stroller this time), Jake helped Grandma with the dusting, watched some football, had supper, bath, bottle, then bed.

But I tell you, if Jake can get this worked up over a cat, I'm not sure I'll be able to handle the tantrums when they come! LOL.

Wing night!

I love Wing Night! Last night was wing night, Andrew babysat Jake. He did a pretty good job, we were a little late getting supper organized, so he took care of that too.
Today, my mom got up with Jake and let me sleep in...it was absolutely divine! Then we went for a walk, it's gorgeous here, 15 degrees Celsius, and it was sunny, this morning anyways.
We went to the American base to run errands and have Burger King for lunch. Jake was good, there's a park next to the grocery store and he loved to run around.
I love these overalls!
When Andrew gets home from school, Jake goes right to him and gets a hug. He actually does this to everyone coming home, yesterday, he got mad at my mom for talking to my dad. It was his turn. LOL.
I call this Jake's "gangsta" look.

Reclining on the couch with his grandpa.

Back at daycare!

Jake has started going to daycare a third half-day so I can have extra time at the gym.
He goes on Thursday afternoon as well now. Despite not napping, he did very well. He even had chocolate cake as a snack, it was someone's birthday. Then, he was absolutely wired all evening. Just running around from one end to the living room, screaming and being silly. It was pretty funny.
I learned a lesson today, always, always put either snow pants, or waterproof pants on an independent toddler. I let him walk to the car, and he jump and fell into a puddle. I had a change of clothes with me, changed him, then after daycare on the way home, he sat down in a puddle. Silly boy!

Good intentions

I fully intended on posting pictures of today, but somehow I lost them. Boo!

I'm sure I'll be able to capture the essence of them later on. He's bound to play again.

We had a regular day, slept in until 830am. Played inside, played outside, did not nap, napped during our walk, had supper, and went to bed at 7pm.

All in all, it's great to be back into our regular routine post holiday!
